UM On-Campus Summer Housing
SUMMER 2012 HOUSING at the University of Maryland
Conference and UM Affiliated Individuals – Housing in Fraternity & Sorority Chapter Houses
The Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life (DFSL) at UMD offers housing opportunities for groups and some qualified individuals between Sunday, May 27th and Sunday, August 12th in our on-campus Chapter Houses.
Each Chapter House comes equipped with:
- Furnished bedrooms and common areas
- Wireless internet service (there is a fee for this for those not associated with the university)
- Laundry facilities
- Central A/C
- Housekeeping services
- Cable TV
- Institutional kitchen facilities for on-site catering use
- ADA accessible
- Shared bathroom facilities on each floor
- Day kitchen facilities with refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster oven and ice machine
- Full sprinkler and fire safety systems
- Live-in building manager
Groups: Group rates are $139.00 per bed, per week with a 25 bed minimum. Minimum duration of stay charge is 1 week. This rate is all inclusive for the amenities listed and include the cost of utilities. House capacities range between 28 and 32 spaces with a combination of double, triple and a few single occupancy rooms. DFSL requires groups to provide live in staff to manage the needs of its members.
Individuals: Those coming to the University of Maryland for internships and programs sponsored by the university may enjoy similar accommodations in a Chapter House at a rate of $139.00 a week for a bed in a shared room. Some single rooms are available at the rate of $159.00 per week.
Double occupancy rooms to be used by a single tenant are available at $ 179.00 per week. A stay of a shorter duration will cost the full week rate.
Our on campus houses are located in walking distance of all university affiliated buildings, nearby shopping, restaurants, and the metro. Many places of worship are accessible on foot or by metro. University of Maryland is located 15 minutes from Washington DC, 40 minutes from Annapolis and 40 minutes from Baltimore.
Parking, university meal plans and access to recreational services are available and may be purchased a la carte for additional fees.
